Understanding Equation Balancing
An equation behaves like a balanced scale. If the left and right sides are equal, you can add, subtract, multiply, or divide both sides by the same quantity and the equality still holds.
That is the core move behind solving for an unknown. For example, from \(x + 3 = 7\), subtracting 3 from both sides gives \(x = 4\).
Use the start equation and target equation fields to compare where the balance begins and where you want it to end. The step list helps you check whether the same operation was applied to both sides.
