About Synthetic Division

Synthetic division is a shorthand method of polynomial division in the special case of dividing by a linear factor of the form (x - a). It's more efficient than long division for linear divisors. To use this calculator, enter the coefficients of the polynomial you wish to divide, separated by commas. For example, for the polynomial x³ - 6x² + 11x - 6, you would enter "1, -6, 11, -6". Then, enter the value of 'a' from your divisor (x - a). For instance, if dividing by (x - 2), enter "2". The calculator will then compute and display the quotient coefficients and the remainder. This tool is helpful for factoring polynomials, finding roots, and simplifying algebraic expressions.
